Maisha Yangu Organization is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Grants and Partnership Intern to support our efforts in securing funding and establishing strategic partnerships. The intern will work closely with the COO to assist in grant research, proposal development, donor communication, and partnership cultivation.

Position Overview:
Maisha Yangu Organization is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Grants and Partnership Intern to support our efforts in securing funding and establishing strategic partnerships. The intern will work closely with the COO to assist in grant research, proposal development, donor communication, and partnership cultivation.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct research on potential funding opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other donors.
· Assist in the development of grant proposals, including drafting narratives, budget preparation, and compiling necessary documents.
· Support donor communication efforts, including drafting emails, acknowledgments, and reports.
· Assist in maintaining donor databases and tracking grant deadlines and requirements.
· Collaborate with program teams to gather information and data for grant proposals and reports.
· Assist in the cultivation and stewardship of strategic partnerships with organisations, businesses, and community stakeholders.
· Support the coordination of partnership meetings, events, and activities as needed.
· Contribute to the overall success of the Grants and Partnerships team by providing administrative support and participating in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
· Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
· Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., international development, nonprofit management, business administration, community development).
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
· Excellent research and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Passion for community development, youth empowerment, and social impact.
· Previous experience in grant writing, fundraising, or partnership development (preferred but not required).
