The mentor
A mentor will help his/her mentee have hope in life, develop leadership
skills, explore career paths, bridge the gap between parents/teachers and the child, and subsequently
become change makers and mentor the next generation. The ultimate goal is to have a generation of confident
people who are active contributors to the society.
Mentor Qualifications
Maisha Yangu Organization is looking for committed mentors who champion for children and youth empowerment.
To be eligible, you must at least have one of the following:
Finished your higher learning or enrolled in university/college pursuing a degree from any field of study.
Have transferable skills.
Experience in various professions.
The Mentees
The mentees will be from schools in Kawangware and in grade 6, 7 and 8 for primary and all classes in secondary school.
Meeting Frequency
The mentorship meetings take place at Maisha Yangu centre once a week for 2-3 hours and virtually for 30 minutes to 2 hours..
